Who I Am
My father had lived with me for the past 12 years.
In November 2011 my father called me from the Emergency Room. He wasn’t feeling well. I rushed over to the hospital and his mental faculties appeared to be fine.
The next morning when I arrived, he didn’t know who I was, and he thought he was back in High School. It was during this difficult time that I found my father had dementia. Apparently he was able to overcome it with his daily routine in familiar surroundings…. the Doctor told me.
I can’t tell you how important I feel that Seniors are able to stay in their own homes, in a place that they recognize and are comfortable with.

One of the most attractive things about the FHA HECM or reverse mortgage loan is that you never take the risk of going into debt--if the sale of your home isn't enough to cover the amount of the loan plus interest, the FHA steps in to cover the rest. That covers paying back the loan, but what about the amount of the loan itself?
